There are two recognised and recommended smartphone apps – NHS App and Patient Access.

NHS App

The new, simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.

  • Check your symptoms
  • Find out what to do when you need help urgently
  • Book and manage appointments at your GP surgery
  • Order repeat prescriptions
  • Securely view your GP medical record (requires practice ODS code, Account ID and Account Linkage Key)
  • Register to be an organ donor
  • Choose how the NHS uses your data

Patient Access

  • Book face-to-face or remote online appointments with your GP, nurse or clinician at a time that suits you
  • Order your repeat prescriptions online, with convenient delivery of your prescription to your local pharmacy
  • Securely share your information with healthcare professionals of your choosing, without the need to contact your practice
  • Refer yourself for services like antenatal care, talking therapies and drug and alcohol addiction services
  • Access to your medical record (requires practice ODS code, Account ID and Account Linkage Key)
